About Selah Schmidt

Selah is 11 years old. She has 5 siblings, including 2 older sisters who also dance. Because of this, she started dancing and competing at age 2 1/2. She would go to conventions with her older sisters and if there wasn’t a “Mini Room” she would just dance with them in the Junior Room. Selah would stand in the back of her sisters’ leaps and turn classes practicing over and over in the corner. She has loved dance from the beginning and tends to be fearless and outgoing.

Selah was the first ever Mini Dancer of the Year for Hollywood Dance Jamz (HDJ) convention in 2019 and then was reselected during Covid in 2020. She placed in the Top 3 Junior DOTY competition in 2021 and 2022 for HDJ. She has been a DJ company member for HDJ the last 2 years as well. She currently is a “That’s a Wrap” Team Scholarship and Team Vibe Scholarship winner. She is a 24/7 Non-Stop Dancer and Nuvo Breakout Artist. She was accepted in the American Ballet Theatre Young Dancer Summer Intensive in NYC and online in 2022.

Currently, Selah trains weekly at Millennium Dance Complex Nashville, The School of Ballet Indiana, Guy Groove Interactive, and tons of extra master classes, intensives, and conventions. Selah loves all styles of dance and wants to be pushed to grow in her artistry. She is thrilled with the opportunity to be on Refresh Squad and learn and grow with the talented faculty.
