Lydia is almost 17 years old, she will be a senior in High School this upcoming year. Lydia comes from a large, close-knit family of six children, she has 2 younger sisters who also dance. Lydia started dancing at age 3, but didn’t do competitive dance until age 7. Lydia got very serious about dance around 6th grade, being from the Midwest, consistent advanced training can often be a challenge to find. Then Covid hit, for many this was a discouraging time, but for Lydia, it opened doors to train with the best of the best, consistently, online in all styles. Her non-traditional journey gives her a unique passion and drive for dance. She has a heart for inspiring other young dancers to never give up. She was 13 when she received her first scholarship at a convention, a lot can change in 3-4 years with hard work and commitment.
Lydia trains weekly at Millennium Dance Complex Nashville, her ballet studio, The School of Ballet Indiana, Guy Groove Interactive, and many other master classes, intensives, and conventions.
Lydia has been a DJ Company member for Hollywood Dance Jamz for the last 2 years. She received the Team Vibe Scholarship this season and was selected a 24/7 Non-Stop dancer and the Weekend Warrior award from Jaclyn Royal.
Lydia’s favorite styles of dance are hiphop, jazz funk, and contemporary, but she truly loves training and is hungry to continue to grow in her artistry. She plans to pursue dance post high school. She is incredibly honored and excited to be a Refresh Squad Member and spend next season training under the amazing faculty.
